We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Professor Dr. William Lawrence Kocay as the Editor in Chief of Utilitas Mathematica at Combinatorial Press. Dr. Kocay, a distinguished Canadian professor in the Department of Computer Science at St. Paul’s College, University of Manitoba, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to our editorial team.
Dr. Kocay is widely recognized for his outstanding contributions to the field of graph theory, particularly in graph algorithms and the reconstruction conjecture. Affectionately known as ‘Wild Bill’ by his students, he has left an indelible mark on the academic community. His illustrious career includes serving as the Managing Editor of Ars Combinatoria, a notable Canadian journal of combinatorial mathematics, from January 1988 to May 1997. Moreover, Dr. Kocay is a founding fellow of the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications.
His diverse research interests span algorithms for graphs, the development of mathematical software, the graph reconstruction problem, the graph isomorphism problem, projective geometry, Hamiltonian cycles, planarity, graph embedding algorithms, graphs on surfaces, and combinatorial designs.
We are confident that Dr. Kocay’s leadership and expertise will significantly contribute to the continued excellence and growth of Utilitas Mathematica. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Professor Dr. William Lawrence Kocay as he takes on this pivotal role at Combinatorial Press
