We are delighted to announce that Professor Dr. Dalibor Froncek has joined Combinatorial Press as the new Managing Editor of Ars Combinatoria. Dr. Froncek brings a wealth of experience and expertise in graph theory and design theory, making him an invaluable addition to our editorial team.

Dr. Dalibor Froncek was born in Opava, Czech Republic, where he later graduated from high school. He pursued his undergraduate education at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, and earned his CSc. Degree (Ph.D. equivalent) under the supervision of Štefan Znám. In 1994, he completed his Ph.D. at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, supervised by Alexander Rosa.

Dr. Froncek held positions as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Vermont, and an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics, Technical University Ostrava in the Czech Republic. He also had a part-time appointment with the Institute of Computer Science at Silesian University in Opava.

Dr. Froncek’s research interests primarily lie in graph theory and design theory. His recent work has focused on graph decompositions and factorizations, graph designs, and magic-type labelings. Notably, he has applied graph factorizations and magic-type labelings in practical contexts, such as tournament scheduling. Dr. Froncek, in collaboration with Mariusz Meszka, has successfully scheduled various national sports leagues, including soccer, hockey, and basketball in the Czech Republic.
